ByBelt ("we", "us", or "our") provides ByFeed – Product Feed Manager ("ByFeed"), a Shopify application that helps merchants export product catalogs to advertising and marketplace channels. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you install or use ByFeed at byfeed.bybelt.com.

By installing or using ByFeed, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the app and contact us with any questions.

Who we are

ByFeed is operated by ByBelt. For privacy-related inquiries, contact support@bybelt.com.

Information we collect

When you use ByFeed, we may process the following categories of data:

Shop and account information — your Shopify store domain, shop name, shop ID, and contact details made available to apps through Shopify during installation and normal app operation.
Product catalog data — product and variant titles, descriptions, prices, compare-at prices, SKUs, barcodes, images, inventory availability, vendor, product type, tags, collection membership, and URLs needed to build channel-ready export files. We access this data using Shopify's read_products permission only. We do not write to or modify your Shopify catalog.
Feed configuration — channel selections, export formats, field mappings, product filters, sync schedules, validation results, feed URLs, version history, and generated feed files stored on our servers.
Usage and technical data — app activity logs, error reports, IP addresses, browser or server user agents, and timestamps used to operate, secure, and improve the service.
Billing information — subscription plan, billing status, and charge history processed through Shopify's billing system. We do not collect or store payment card numbers.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data about your customers beyond product catalog fields required for feed generation. ByFeed is designed for merchant use, not end-customer profiles.

How we use information

We use collected information to:

Generate, validate, store, and serve product feed files you configure
Run scheduled sync jobs and maintain feed version history
Display diagnostics, health scores, and export status in the app
Authenticate your store and maintain your session with Shopify
Process subscriptions and enforce plan limits
Respond to support requests and fix bugs
Monitor security, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your data, rent your catalog to third parties, or use your product data for unrelated advertising.

Legal bases (EEA/UK merchants)

Where applicable data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on: (a) performance of our contract with you to provide ByFeed; (b) legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the service; and (c) compliance with legal obligations. You may withdraw consent where consent is the basis, without affecting prior processing.

How we share information

We may share data only as follows:

Service providers — hosting, infrastructure, logging, and monitoring vendors that process data on our instructions under contractual safeguards.
Shopify — as required for app installation, OAuth, webhooks, and billing through the Shopify platform.
Channels you configure — when you submit a public feed URL to Google, Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, or another platform, that platform may fetch and process the exported product data according to its own policies.
Legal requirements — if required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and security.

Data retention

We retain shop data, feed configurations, and generated files while ByFeed remains installed and as needed to provide the service. When you uninstall ByFeed, we delete associated shop data in response to Shopify's mandatory shop/redact webhook, subject to limited backup retention for a short period where technically necessary.

Customer-related data requests and redactions from Shopify are handled through mandatory compliance webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact).

Security

We use HTTPS encryption in transit, access controls, and reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect data. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Report suspected issues to support@bybelt.com.

International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including where our infrastructure providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

Cookies and similar technologies

The public marketing site and app may use session cookies and similar technologies necessary for authentication, security, and core functionality. We do not use third-party advertising cookies on ByFeed.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port personal data, and to object to certain processing. Shopify merchants can uninstall ByFeed to revoke app access to Shopify data. To exercise rights or ask questions, email support@bybelt.com with your shop domain.

Children

ByFeed is a business tool for Shopify merchants and is not directed at children under 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or by email where appropriate.
